Detta inneb\u00e4r att substansen som ska uts\u00f6ndras kopplas samman &#8211; konjugeras med ett annat \u00e4mne t ex glucuronsyra. Detta sker i levern.<br>Syftet med konjugeringen \u00e4r att hindra hormonet eller toxinet fr\u00e5n att \u00e5terupptas i tarmen vilket de skulle g\u00f6ra om de inte var sammankopplade med glucuron. Konjugatet uts\u00f6ndras via gallan till tarmen.<br>I tarmen finns dock bakterier som kan producera enzym som bryter dessa konjugat vilket kallas dekonjugering. Detta medf\u00f6r att hormonet kan \u00e5terupptas i tarmen och g\u00e5r ut i blodet. F\u00f6ljden blir h\u00f6jda halter av hormoner i blodet, \u00f6kad uts\u00f6ndring av dessa via urinen samt s\u00e4nkta halter i avf\u00f6ringen.<br><br><strong>F\u00f6rh\u00f6jda halter \u00f6strogen i blod och urin har kopplats samman med \u00f6kad risk f\u00f6r br\u00f6stcancer.<\/strong><br><br>Vid obalanser i tarmen till f\u00f6ljd av f\u00f6r h\u00f6gt intag av animaliskt fett och protein \u00f6kar bakteriernas f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att bryta konjugat. Resultatet blir f\u00f6rh\u00f6jda hormonhalter i blodet samt \u00f6kad upptag av gifter. Kroppens avgiftningsf\u00f6rm\u00e5ga f\u00f6rs\u00e4mras.<br><br><strong>Kosten verkar ha en stark inverkan p\u00e5 utvecklingen av br\u00f6stcancer. Vegetarianer uts\u00f6ndrar i genomsnitt 3 g\u00e5nger mer \u00f6strogen via avf\u00f6ringen \u00e4n k\u00f6tt\u00e4tare.<\/strong><br><br>I Japan d\u00e4r det genomsnittliga intaget av fett 1978 l\u00e5g p\u00e5 40-50 gram\/dag var frekvensen av br\u00f6stcancer 30-35 fall\/100 000 kvinnor, medan amerikanska kvinnor som konsumerade 3 g\u00e5nger s\u00e5 mycket fett hade en frekvens p\u00e5100 fall\/100 000 kvinnor.<br><br><strong>I och med att kosth\u00e5llningen i Japan har f\u00f6r\u00e4ndrats mot en mer v\u00e4sterl\u00e4ndsk kost har frekvensen av br\u00f6stcancer \u00f6kat kraftigt de senaste tjugo \u00e5ren.<\/strong> <em>Undvik mj\u00f6lk som inneh\u00e5ller stora m\u00e4ngder IGF som stimulerar cancerceller.<br><\/em><br>Kosten kan allts\u00e5 p\u00e5verka hormonbalansen genom att bl. a p\u00e5verka enzymaktiviteten hos tarmfloran.<br>Ett annat exempel p\u00e5 tarmflorans p\u00e5verkan p\u00e5 hormonbalansen \u00e4r det fenomen som kan uppst\u00e5 vid samtidigt intag av p-piller och antibiotika. I och med att antibiotikan reducerar bakterietalen i tarmen minskar dekonjungeringen.<br><br><em><strong>Reabsorptionen av \u00f6strogen minskar vilket s\u00e4nker halterna \u00f6strogen i blodet. Effekten av p-pillren kan d\u00e4rmed reduceras.
